A series of articles in the Toronto Star about the diversity
of CAS approaches to adoption in Ontario has prompted many people to wonder
what is the current situation here in Simoce County.
Some families have indicated they are frightened that
the CAS will remove their children if they are spanked. In a Letter to the Editor
that was carried in several of our community newspapers, we tried to help families
better understand the issues involved.
Many people in our Community call and ask if we will
check our files to see if a person they are considering hiring has received
service from us. In this enclosed letter, we explain our reasons.
