Becoming a Volunteer

Volunteers can get involved in a wide range of services. Some volunteers develop supportive relationships with children and families by becoming special friends or tutors. Others participate in children's groups, or take part in ongoing programs that benefit both children and their parents. We try to fit the assignment to the skills, interests, and available time of each volunteer.

Many volunteers do whatever is needed to help improve the lives of children in our care, such as driving children to appointments. Others serve on our board or committees.

If you feel there is an area that you could contribute to and do not see it listed here, please contact our Coordinator of Volunteers at 1-800-461-4236 or e-mail to discuss your ideas.

The first step to volunteering with our Agency is to pick up a volunteer package, available at any of our offices throughout Simcoe County, or request that a package be mailed to you.  Please follow the instructions and return the completed package to the Coordinator of Volunteers BEFORE you attend the orientation session.

No matter how you volunteer with us, you will be part of a team that includes staff, foster parents, children and families. You will benefit from training, supervision, and recognition for your contribution, but your primary reward will be watching how your work helps our children and families.

To begin the process of becoming a volunteer, contact us by e-mail or phone 1-800-461-4236 or pick up a volunteer information package at any of our offices in Simcoe County.
