Foster Care                

Our primary goal is to keep children safe and in their homes, however, part of the Simcoe County CAS mission statement is to work together with our community to “provide quality alternative care when necessary”

 Foster Care, Outside Paid Resources and Adoption, (ie. placements for children outside their homes) is the work of the Agency's Resource Department.

Our Foster/Adoption committee is putting into practice the philosophy of permanency planning for children as soon as possible. That means children return home or to kin (relatives, friends, other close adults)  or they are placed for adoption or to long term foster care. 

A few foster care facts . . .

There are currently 134 foster homes approved by the Simcoe County CAS.   As of March 1, 2003, we have 330 children in care.
