Family Service Worker: These caseworkers assess matters pertaining to children in need of protection provide counselling and referral services and provides services to children in care.
Foster Care Resources and Adoption Resources: These caseworkers conduct home assessments of potential foster or adoption homes and provide the necessary ongoing support and training to the families.
Long Term Care: These caseworkers work with children and youth who are permanent wards of the Society, working closely with foster families as well as biological family where children and youth have ongoing family contacts.
Qualifications:
- A Social Work Degree or a degree in the Social Sciences or equivalent, in combination with several years of relevant experience
- Excellent communication, counseling and assessment skills
- A desire to become an integral part of the social service structure of a growing community.
- In depth knowledge of child protection legislation and services.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
- Proven teamwork skills and the ability to establish positive working relationships with others but also to work independently as required.
Compensation:
The current salary range is from $47,858 to $66,704, commensurate with experience, with a generous benefits package, vacation and leave provisions.
