What is the holiday sponsorship program?
- An inclusive multicultural program designed to celebrate the traditions and meet the needs of individual families and young adults, who are under the supervision of the Children's Aid Society
- A program that is administered and organized by the Simcoe County Children's Aid Society
- A program that matches sponsors' generous gifts of new toys, clothes, and grocery certificates to create complete holiday celebrations for families across Simcoe County
- A program where full and partial sponsorships are welcome. Partial sponsorships will be matched with others to create a full sponsorship
What is a full sponsorship?
- Grocery store gift certificates for a full holiday meal
- Two durable, age and gender appropriate toys for each child
- New socks, underwear and a reasonably priced outfit such as pants and a top, a track suit or a dress for each child
- Small gift(s) for the parent(s)
What is a partial sponsorship?
Any component or combination of components listed above
Who are Sponsors?
- Individuals
- Families
- Businesses
- Churches
- Community groups
- Service clubs
What is the cost?
The cost is roughly $100 per child plus a grocery gift card; therefore the cost for a mother and two children would be about $300.00.
Can I make a straight cash donation?
Cash donations are very welcome and will be used to top up partial sponsorships, purchase grocery or other gift certificates and provide for emergency incidentals.
How does it work?
Once you have determined your resources and amount of sponsorship you can make:
- We will request your full contact information.
- You will be provided with non-identifying information about the family that includes the first names, gender, ages, clothing sizes and any special needs or wishes they may have.
- You will be asked to provide new gifts, wrapped and tagged or include the gift wrap and tags.
- You will be asked to deliver the sponsorship hamper to a local depot on December 18th , 19th or 20th . You will be contacted with this information for your community.

What you should know:
Lists are shared with other sponsor agencies from across Simcoe County to ensure that all needs are met and there is no duplication.
We try to match sponsors and families in the same geographic area but community need and community generosity are not always balanced. In such cases the match will be made based on need over geography.
When a sponsorship for one family is excessive, we reserve the right to redistribute some of the excess in consultation with the sponsor.
In the event there are surplus donations, they will be used throughout the year for occasions such as birthdays and other times of need.
Only new toys and articles of clothing are accepted.
Please no combat or weaponry toys, alcohol or candles.
Monetary gifts to families should be made in the form gift certificates (see "What gifts are appropriate?"). All other monetary gifts should go through the program.
