    OUR VISION
    It is the VISION of the Board, Staff, Foster Parents and Volunteers of the Simcoe County Children's Aid Society that:

    1. CHILDREN:
  • will have their basic needs met for:
  • love, guidance, nurturing
  • safety
  • food, clothing, shelter
  • access to education
  • opportunity for the development as individuals with healthy self-esteem and self-confidence to become productive members of Society to the extent of their full potential
  • will be encouraged in their development of a sense of hope
  • will be sustained in their development into a person who is physically and emotionally healthy
  • will be free to be children: to play, have fun, take risks and experience

    2. FAMILIES:
  • are the basic unit in which to raise children
  • will be respected for their cultural differences
  • are safe for children
  • have sufficient resources, both inside the family and outside in their community
  • will be respected for the integrity and value of their family unit

    3. COMMUNITIES:
  • will be free from violence
  • will accept reponsibility for supporting families and raising children
  • will value diversity
  • will be placed where community members will treat each other in a repectful, dignified manner
  • will received timely, seamless service delivery from its children's service providers
  • will realize that services to families and children are an investment in the future.

    OUR VALUES
    1. CLIENT SERVICES
    We value the family unit as the most promising resource for creating a safe and nurturing enviroment for children. we will endeavour to:
  • explore all options for working with children within their own families
  • empower individuals and familie as the prime problem solving unit
  • repect families' and children's right to participate with all service providers in decisions affecting them
  • provide an accessible service to all those who require the service that we are mandated to provide ensure that children in substitute care settings have as normal a life experience as possible and are able to remain as much a part of their original family unit as possible
  • act as reponsible parents to those children who are placed permanently in our care.

    2. FINANCIAL RESOURCES
    We value using our financial resources responsibly while continuously improving the means by which these resources are applied to agency priorities.

    3. HUMAN RESOURCES
    We value, among all our human resources, mutal trust, repect, cooperation, openness and teamwork in all our dealings with people. We will share information, resources and ideas; seek input to solutions wherever possible and promote decision making by those most directly affected.

    4. COMMUNITY RESOURCES
    We value and will develop and strenghen the opportunities our agency has to work in partnership with our community towards the enhancement of child and family functioning through:
  • intergration and co-ordination of services
  • education
  • advocating for services for children and families
  • advocating for prevention programs for children and families.

    5. QUALITY ASSURANCE
    We value our commitment to continuous improvement for out services and to the measurement of those services for their effectiveness. We value input from our clients about what they want and need from us.
