Help give a child a Happy Christmas
Christmas Sponsorship Guidelines:
-
The family that you have agreed to sponsor will automatically become
ineligible to receive Christmas Baskets from other sources.
- Whenever possible, we try to match a sponsor with a family from a specific
area, however, we service all of Simcoe County and if there is a family in greater need in another
part of the county, that family should have first opportunity for a sponsorship.
- Monetary gifts are discretionary, however, we cannot provide assurances that
the money will be used in the intended manner. Gift certificates from Zellers or food
stores are an excellent way to spend any remaining cash.
- Groups wishing to personally sponsor a family or families should not agree to
more than they can adequately provide. Also, if an excessive amount of goods are collected for one family,
the Agency reserves the right to re-distribute some of the excess to another needy family or child.
It is very important that we don't "over do" a sponsorship. We are trying to help
many of these families to begin planning and budgetting for their needs.
- As well as food baskets, a sponsorship should provide toys and clothing for
each child, and some small gifts for the parent or parents.
- Second-hand clothes that are in good shape are welcome, but please do not
wrap them as gifts. Also, please only donate items that are age and size-appropriate.
We will notify you with pick-up dates and times.
