Quality Engineer/Statistician

The Job 

This is a permanent position. The incumbent will be located in the Barrie office and will report to the Manager of Excellence and Accountability.  The purpose of the position is to assist the agency in achieving organizational excellence through data analysis and development and implementation of tools to support current and future agency operational /strategic planning initiatives.

Qualifications 

 • A University Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or technical discipline, in combination with several years experience in process quality improvement in a mid to large size corporation.

• A professional ASQ/CQE designation or a combination of training and experience in quality at a similar level.

• Knowledge and experience in use of statistical quality tools e.g. trend analysis and reliability tests.

• Knowledge and experience in process development & improvement tools e.g., time studies, process mapping, value streams.

• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Single Information System(SIS), SPSS, Crystal Reports, InfoPath)

• Experience in development and implementation of Business/Quality Management Systems.

• Experience in development and implementation of a Balanced Score Card system.

• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt training or certification would be an asset.

• Proven ability to work with diverse teams in a collaborative manner.

• Proven ability to communicate ideas and concepts as well as gather, interpret and clarify information received from individuals and groups.

• Superior ability to manage multiple and competing priorities and to work well under pressure to tight time line.

• Knowledge of child welfare would be an asset.

• An understanding of anti-oppression values and principles is important.  In particular, knowledge and awareness of the culture and history along with an understanding of the social and political issues facing First Nations, Métis and Inuit people today.

• Bilingualism (English/French) is a valued asset.

Compensation

The current salary range is $52,296 to $72,889, commensurate with experience, with generous benefits package, vacation and leave provisions.
