The Job:
These are generalist child welfare casework positions with responsibilities including: investigating and assessing matters pertaining to children in need of protection, counselling services to clients, services to children in care, recording responsibilities in accordance with the legislation and agency procedures, community outreach and prevention activities.
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants with:
A Social Work Degree or a degree in the Social Sciences in combination with several years of relevant experience excellent communication, counseling and assessment skills
A desire to become an integral part of the social service structure of a growing community
In depth knowledge of child protection legislation and services
Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skillsProven teamwork skills and the ability to establish positive working relationships with others but also to work independently as required
Francophone capability and knowledge and experience in working with the Aboriginal population
would be a definite asset.
Compensation:
The current salary range is from $47,858 to $66,704, commensurate with experience, with a generous benefits package, vacation and leave provisions.
