Purpose:
- To provide services on a short-term fee-for-service basis (typically 3 months) to address client needs and support child safety, child well-being and permanency planning.
Major Responsibilities:
- In consultation with the case manager and the client, develop and implement activities that are designed to achieve the outcomes identified in the service contract.
- Provide written documentation (case notes) to the case manager within 24 hours of service.
- Report forthwith any disclosures made by the client concerning harm or potential harm as per the Child and Family Services Act
- Submit invoices in a timely manner to the One to One Department
- From time to time One to One workers are invited to training offered by the society.
- One to One workers can be engaged in any number of separate service contracts.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Preference will be given to persons who hold a CYW Diploma or equivalent.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of theories and practices in the field of child and youth work.
- A basic understanding of child development, mental health and the behavioural sciences.
- Good communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to people.
- The ability to exercise mature and professional judgment.
- The ability to work independently and cooperatively.
- Creativity and the ability to problem solve.
- Good organizational skills
- The ability to provide legible and concise case notes
Assignment Conditions:
- Assignment conditions will vary based on the particular service contract.
- Assignments may be conducted in the client's place of residence, or the community.
- Work may entail transporting clients.
- One to One workers may decline any contract offered.
Compensation:
- Negotiated on a case by case basis but will typically not exceed $15 per hour.
